Alan Grieco, Ph.D.
Dr. Grieco, serving Central Florida since 1986, is a Licensed Psychologist and is certified by the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (aasect.org), as a Sex Therapist. He earned his B.A. from the University of Miami and his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Memphis in 1980. In 1986, he completed a Post-Doctoral Clinical Fellowship at the Masters and Johnson Institute in St. Louis. He has a general practice treating adults and couples. His specialties are Sex Therapy, Marital/Relationship Therapy, and Forensic Assessments, including Psychosexual Evaluations. For individuals and couples, aged 18 years or older, Dr. Grieco addresses the full range of sexual/relationship/marital issues, including general conflict, infidelity, compulsions (sexual addiction), sexual dysfunctions (such as erectile disorder, premature ejaculation, low libido, and anorgasmia), gender issues, orientation conflict, and paraphilias (such as fetishes). He also evaluates and provides individual therapy to sex offenders. In addition, Dr. Grieco provides therapy for such common problems as stress, anxiety, and depression.
Dr. Grieco conducts psychological and psychosexual evaluations (See Services For More Information), often at the request of judges, state attorneys and defense attorneys whose client has been accused or convicted of a sexual offense. He is also available for courtroom testimony and has been designated an expert witness in State and Federal courts in matters pertaining to sex offenders.
In addition to private practice, he has served as Adjunct Assistant Professor at Rollins College and as Adjunct Instructor at the University of Central Florida (UCF), where he has taught human sexuality, marital and sex therapy, and other courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Dr. Grieco has published articles in peer-reviewed professional journals on such topics as STD prevention, sexual harassment, and quality of life. He has also made professional presentations to local, regional, and international audiences and has been a radio and T.V. guest.
Dr. Grieco is a member of American Psychological Association (APA), American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT), and Florida Psychological Association (FPA), where he has served on the board of directors. He is licensed as a psychologist in both Florida and Virginia.
