Therapeutic Group For Children(Ages 8-12) Kids' Place Will Help Children Begin To:

 

• See that others are experiencing similar emotions and thoughts

• Begin to feel comfortable discussing the divorce

• Promote emotional well-being in an enjoyable atmosphere with planned activities

 

Children Meet Once a Week For Six Weeks

 

Each week, children create a group project.  Activities aimed at coping skills and dealing with the concerns of divorce inlcude creating gingerbread houses, planting plants, and reading Dinosaurs' Divorce.

An initial parent orientation helps provide information about the groups goals and activities.  The last session is a graduation to summarize the group accomplishments and celebrate the childrens work.

 

Program

The Divided Loyalties Program is an educational program designed for separating, divorcing, and divorced parents. Our program has been court approved in Lake, range, Osceola, and Seminole Counties.

 

Purpose

This program provides information about the divorce process in hopes of fostering effective coping by parents and children, improving parent/child relationships, and facilitating cooperative parenting. A further aim is to reduce the number of contested parenting and time-sharingdisputes.

 

Why

Approximately 1.2 million children experience divorce each year in the United States. It is estimated that approximately 10% of all divorces involve  parenting and time-sharing disputes, not only does this present an increasing burden on the court, but it can have an adverse economic and emotional impact on all parties involved. Research

studies show that a stable relationship with both parents after divorce increase.

 

 

Registration Fee: $20.00 (non-fedundable)
Session Fee: $40.00 per session
(costs for the session include snacks and material fees)
