Dr. Chelsea Bennett has earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Criminology and Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Psychology from the University of Florida, a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Forensic Psychology from the George Washington University, and attained her Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degrees in Clinical Psychology from Florida Institute of Technology. She completed an APA-accredited predoctoral internship with the Department of Children and Families at Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee, Florida where she authored evaluations for the courts regarding competency to stand trial and need for continued commitment for those adjudicated Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity, provided treatment for pre- and post-trial defendants, and worked as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team serving a maximum-security forensic admissions unit. Dr. Bennett is currently completing her postdoctoral residency at Psychological Affiliates, Inc. where she will specialize in providing various forensic services including criminal and forensic assessments and evaluations, family law matters, and psychotherapy. Dr. Bennett has experience conducting a wide variety of assessments and evaluations including comprehensive psychological assessment, pre- and post-trial evaluations for the courts, assessment of response style, personality assessment, parental fitness, and assessment of violence and recidivism risk. Her main interest lies in psychological testing, assessment, and forensic evaluations. 


Regarding therapeutic services, Dr. Bennett has conducted therapy in a variety of settings including outpatient mental health clinics, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, a forensic state hospital, and correctional settings. She has worked with individuals struggling with severe and persistent mental illness and has provided cognitive-behavioral therapy to address concerns such as chronic pain, anger management, self-esteem, adjustment issues, substance use, relationship difficulties, anxiety, and depression. Dr. Bennett also has experience providing competency restoration services and relapse prevention interventions.
