Comprehensive Clinical Evaluations in Florida

We offer a range of comprehensive clinical evaluations tailored to uncover meaningful insights into psychological, neuropsychological, and educational functioning. The results of these assessments can guide treatment planning, academic accommodations, and personal development. All evaluations are conducted in a private, confidential, and compassionate setting.

What Is a Clinical Evaluation?

A clinical evaluation is a structured and evidence-based process used to assess a person’s cognitive, emotional, behavioral, or psychological functioning. These evaluations are often recommended when someone is experiencing challenges related to mood, behavior, attention, learning, or development.

Our Clinical Services 2 Step On-boarding Process

The onboarding process includes an initial intake, conflict check, and retainer payment.

At Psychological Affiliates, we follow a clear, supportive, and confidential on-boarding process designed to help new clients feel comfortable and informed from day one.

  • The first step is a brief phone call or email exchange with our administrative staff. During this we will gather basic information, including full names and dates of birth for a conflict check, your reason for seeking the evaluation, availability, and any preferences for a provider. This helps us determine the best-fit provider from our experienced team of licensed psychologists.

Below is the information we request:

    • All parties’ names and dates of birth for a conflict check including any children

    • Services you are looking to hire the doctor for

    • Any due dates or deadlines that the doctor would need to be aware of

    • Estimated number of records to review if applicable

  • After the provider reviews your request, we will request a retainer payment. Once you have decided to move forward, you will submit your retainer payment. All payments are nonrefundable.

Neuropsychological Evaluations

  • We are proud to have an experienced Neuropsychologist on our team. Neuropsychologists have additional training and expertise in brain function and cognitive assessment. This allows for a deeper analysis of cognitive processes, especially in conditions like brain injuries, dementia, or other neurological disorders.

  • A neuropsychological evaluation is a formal assessment of mood, personality, and cognitive abilities (e.g., memory, concentration, and problem-solving) that is conducted by a certified Neuropsychologist.

Some key applications of a neuropsychological evaluation include:

    • Establishing a Baseline: Monitor changes in thinking skills, mood, and personality over time, which helps tailor more effective treatment strategies.

    • Supporting Informed Decisions: Assist patients and families in making informed choices regarding work, daily responsibilities, and life adjustments.

    • Educating Family Members: Help families understand how a brain disorder impacts their loved one, promoting better support and care.

    • Informing Medical Decisions: Provide physicians with insights that can help tailor medications and interventions to the patient’s specific needs.

  • A neuropsychological evaluation may be beneficial for individuals who:

    •  Are considering deep brain stimulation (DBS) for the treatment of movement and psychiatric disorders and are required to complete a neuropsychological evaluation to help determine their candidacy for surgery. A second evaluation is often recommended six to twelve months after surgery.

    • Are experiencing cognitive, mood, or personality changes due to neurological conditions such as brain injuries, strokes, or neurodegenerative diseases.

    • Have been diagnosed with psychiatric disorders and are experiencing difficulty with memory, concentration, or problem-solving.

    • Need to assess cognitive abilities related to work, school, or daily functioning after a significant medical event (e.g., surgery, brain injury).

    • Are seeking a comprehensive overview of their cognitive abilities  for personal, academic, or professional decisions.

    • Are involved in legal cases where cognitive functioning or mental health is in question. Neuropsychological evaluations are often used in criminal court cases.
